Seen on horse safari at Plett Game Reserve

Take a moment to slip back in time: open plains drenched in golden autumn light, almost complete silence and cool fresh air. The only sound that breaks your silent immersion in nature is the snap of horseshoes on the ground, birds in the trees and the breeze whistling through the grass. Zebras move across a distant hill, springbok canter across your path and a herd of elephants quietly drink at the water hole – this is South Africa the way it was meant to be experienced: magnificent and natural.

Plett Game Reserve is proud to offer experienced riders the opportunity to horseback ride among our animals (except the predators) on the reserve. There is almost nothing better than seeing buck, zebra, giraffe, elephants, rhino and more from horseback – we can highly recommend it! Below is a gallery of some of our encounters from our horse safaris this month. Book now
