Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is very proud to announce that we will be hosting the first day of the famous MTB stage race: Dr Evil Classic. On the 20th September, riders will visit Plett Game Reserve for registration and for the first day of this three-day stage race.
The route will include trails through our lovely 2000 hectare game reserve which includes open plains and forest along a distance of 70km, finding a fine balance between single track and jeep track aka Mountain Bike Heaven.
Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is home to the African Big Five and riders will be able to experience the wide open spaces of the reserve from the comfort of their bikes. The reserve is home to elephants, zebra, giraffe, hippos, antelope and more, promising riders an unforgettable start to the Dr Evil Classic.
From Plett Game Reserve, riders move on to Kurland Hotel and Polo Estate, where Dr Evil has been cutting the route on this pristine piece of property in the heart of the Garden Route, which will be around 50km. The final day of riding will bring riders back to the coastal paradise around Cairnbrogie Dairy Farm & Pump Track. Riders can expect another 50km ride along single track with superb views of the coast and surrounding Fynbos.
There are limited spaces left for Dr Evil Classic 2018, so don’t delay if you’d like to book for this year’s event. We can’t wait!
